Butter Bandit

Hmmm... so it seems I have a butter bandit.

It had to of been someone tall enough to reach the top shelf, and someone that is not missing any teeth.  That leaves one certain little girl.

Headbands

Laila was wearing her headband around her forehead...

Me: Laila, is that a forehead band you're wearing?

Laila: Nope, it's a fifty-head band.

Kitty-Cat Hair

Royce: "Mommy!  I like your hair!"

Me: "Thank you!"

Royce: "How'd you do that!?"

Me: "I don't know..."

Royce: "You look like a kitty-cat!"  *He then proceeds to pet the top of my head*



Not sure if I should keep the kitty-cat style... LOL.  I had my hair pulled into a messy bun today.  :)

Stabbing Day

While enjoying dessert at the table, the dog tried to grab a bite of Maleah's dessert.  She didn't like that too much, and fought the dog off with her fork! So....


Me: Maleah don't stab Zola with your fork!

Laila: I thought it was stabbing day.


 
 

Date Night

Kaydence: Hey would you like to go to a fancy dinner with father?

Me: Yep!  I want to have a nice dinner with him.

Kaydence:  Then go to sitter.com and you can find a sitter for us!


Too much TV?  Yes. 

Can't Sleep

Laila was in her room by herself for naptime.  She came out of her room and told me, "I can't sleep because I keep talking!"

Smells

I hand Laila her favorite blanket fresh out of the dryer...

Laila: This smells like old bananas.
Me: No it doesn't.  Maybe your nose smells like old bananas!
Laila:  Nope.  My nose smells like chips and garlic.

Go Bye-Bye?

EVERY MORNING I get Boo out of her bed.  I change her diaper and get her dressed, then set her in the floor to explore the world!  And EVERY MORNING Boo opens the top drawer of her changing table, which contains her shoes.  She reeeeeeeeeaches high up on her little tip-toes and grabs a pair of shoes.

She runs through the house carrying two shoes and of course her favorite pink blanket (that she goes NO WHERE without!)

"Mommy!  Shoes on!  Mommy!  Shoes on!  Mommy! Shoes on!"  a million times until I finally set her in my lap and put those shoes on her.

"Go bye-bye?" Boo asks me.

"No, we aren't going anywhere right now..." I tell her.


Then she looks at me with those big squishy cheeks and her bright blue eyes, and with the sweetest yet most disappointed tone, asks "Whyyyyyy?"

She'll make ya wanna pack up in the car and just go bye-bye for no reason!!  :)

Bedtime Stories

So I'm sitting on Royce's bed, and I tell him to go pick out a book to read before bed.

He brings me the phonebook.

Smart!

Give Him A Cow

Me: Look! There's a coyote in that feild.

Laila: Oh! I'm going to give him a bone.

Kaydence: Coyotes don't eat BONES...

Laila: What do they eat?

Me: Animals.

Laila: Oh. Well then I'll give him a cow!

Dangerous Crabs

I wanted to share this conversation I had with Kaydence and Laila in the car on the way to school the other day. The innocence of children can be funny at times. :)

Kaydence: Mommy, where do zebras live?

Me: Well, some zebras live in zoos, and you can find wild zebras in Africa.

Kaydence: Where is Africa? Can we go there?

Me: Well, it's far, far away. We'd have to take a plane to get there. And I don't think I'd take you guys while you're young because Africa can be dangerous.

Kaydence: Why is it dangerous?

Laila: Does it have CRABS!???

REALLY Old!

Today while eating lunch, Kaydence and Laila were talking about all the things they are going to do when they are moms.

Kaydence: When I'm a mom, I will go everywhere! I will take my kids to Homeland, Super Target, the mall...

Laila (to me): When I'm a mom, that means you will turn into a kid!!

Me: No, when you guys are moms, I'll be a grandma!

Kaydence: That means you're REALLY old!!

Being Thankful

Today Kaydence and I had a one-on-one lunch. We talked about lots of things... like starting school, making new friends, going back to school shopping, etc.

After lunch, we ran to the grocery store to grab a few things. As we were leaving, I said, "That lady is walking home with her shopping cart!"

Kaydence laughed and said, "Does she not have a car??"

I told her that maybe she didn't have a car.

Kaydence said, "I thought everyone had cars!"

So I explained that not everyone has a car. And Kaydence asked why. So I tell her how some people can't afford cars, or don't have a drivers license, or aren't able to drive for some reason.

She then asked why some people can't buy cars, and I explained that it costs a lot of money! I told her how some people don't have houses to live in, and in some parts of the world people are starving because they cannot even get food! Kaydence then asked why they just can't go to the grocery store. So I had to explain that too.

Kaydence then tells me, "Then why don't people just give those people some of their food??" I smiled at her innocent but correct idea. I told her that some people do try to help, but not everyone that is starving can be helped.

Then we started talking about people having no where to live, and she asks, "But what if they don't have a pool either!?"

Well we don't have a pool, so I guess we're just so deprived, LOL. :)

So I told her to be thankful for what she has. "A house to live in, a warm bed to sleep in, clothes to wear, food to eat, and a blanket to sniff!" (Said to her as she was smelling her blanket, haha)

Kaydence then tells me, "No one sniffs blankets!"

I said, "Yeah, you're just weird."

Cute Boy

Me: Ohhhh come here Royce!! (I pick him up and give him a big hug) How did I make such a cute boy??

Kaydence: YOU didn't make a cute boy. GOD made a cute boy.

Me: Oh... well I guess you're right! How did God make such a smart girl?

Kaydence: Well He was thinking about a smart girl, and then He made a smart girl!

Sure

Today Kaydence was sweeping the kitchen, and Laila was using the little hand broom and dustpan. Here was the conversation I heard:

Laila: Can I sweep up this pile now?
Kaydence: Sure.
Laila: Why did you say 'sure'?
Kaydence: Sure means yes!
Laila: Oh. Is that Spanish?
Kaydence: Nope.


Little things like that give me a good giggle all the time.

Part Me

Kaydence: Part me!.............. Part me!................ Part meeeeeeeeee!
Me: What in the WORLD is "part me"??
Kaydence: It means "move out of my way"!!!
Me: Oh you mean PARDON ME?
Kaydence: Yeah! Part me!

Electrical Cords

Just thought I'd share a conversation I had with Kaydence earlier today while cleaning. Maleah was in the floor, going after the cord to the vaccum...

Me: Ah! Kaydence get Maleah away from that electrical cord!
Kaydence: But electrical cords are in your belly...
Me: No that's an UMBILICAL cord...

Convos with the Kiddos

Kids sometimes say funny stuff. When they're young, they are honest no matter what, LOL. I thought I'd share a few convos.

Yesterday
Laila: Mommy I like you!!
Kaydence: I like you too!
Laila: But Royce does NOT like you.

For the past few days, we've been living at the pool and I haven't bothered to put on makeup. Today I got ready to go to church, and put on my makeup, and then went into the girls room....

Laila: MOMMMMMMY! You look beautiful! I can see your eyes!! It's like we have a new Mommy!

I guess I should always wear my makeup... haha

Making dinner tonight:
Me: You can have water with your meal.
Kaydence: Meal?? A meal is chicken nuggets with FRIES!
Me: NO a meal is like breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Hahaha... obviously I never use the word 'meal'.

Golden Spongecake

Kids like to make excuses to get out of bed. During naptime today, Kaydence got up and came to me and said, "Mommy, do you know what's REALLLY GOOD? Golden spongecake! It's GOLDEN because it's YELLOW!"
